HISTORY COLORADO: The 19th Amendment was hardly the end of the struggle for diverse women's equality

History Colorado the following announcement on March 12.

"The 19th Amendment was hardly the end of the struggle for diverse women's equality," Liette Gidlow shared. "And only a step toward a more representative democracy."

We hosted our monthly Bold Women. Change History. speaker last night and welcomed scholar Liette Gidlow. She spoke in depth about the 19th amendment, but then connected these thought to today's voting system. Our audience enjoyed her talk, the chance to ask questions, and Liette also signed copies of her book, "The Big Vote."

Liette left us with this to ponder, "the struggle for the right to vote is not confined to the past."

Next month we welcome Gale Norton! Gale is the first woman elected Attorney General of Colorado and went on to serve as Secretary of the US Department of the Interior, the first female leader in the department’s 150-year history. Tickets are available here: https://bit.ly/2wQPGEC
