Salida Regional Library issued the following announcement on Aug. 27.
The Sherman Hotel at 149-151 W. 1st Street was purchased in 1923 by Adam Heberer and his son Max. They made extensive renovations to the building, expanding the hotel to eighty rooms.
The building housed the 'Sherman Coffee Shoppe' in 1928. Leona Reppeto and J.B. Chapman were the proprietors of the shop which operated in connection with the hotel.
This same year the building added a second story and was attached to the building to the south.
