Eagle County issued the following announcement on Sept. 18.
Ballots will be mailed to all active, registered voters on Oct. 9. Voters are strongly encouraged to register to vote or check their registration as soon as possible. Voters should ensure that their residential and mailing addresses are current. As a reminder, ballots are not forwardable by law.
The 24-hour ballot drop boxes located in Avon, Edwards, El Jebel and Basalt will open on Oct. 9. Voter Service Centers in Avon, Eagle and El Jebel will open starting Oct. 19, and be open for 12 days prior to Nov. 3 The Vail Voter Service Center located on top of the Lionshead parking structure in the Grand View Room will open on Oct. 30.
Officials are asking the community to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and reduce wait times on Election Day by registering now or coming to a Voter Service Center starting Oct. 19. “All election day services will be available at these centers, so there’s no need to wait until Election Day to register to vote, obtain a ballot, pick up a replacement ballot, or return a voted ballot,” said Eagle County Clerk & Recorder Regina O’Brien.
