Eagle County issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.
Eagle County is seeking community input on concepts for multimodal access and connectivity improvements in West Edwards along U.S. Highway 6 and Lake Creek Village Drive. The recommendations and alternatives were developed over the last year based on public input, and provide concept-level alternatives to improve access and connectivity for vehicles, buses, bicyclists and pedestrians in four key areas.
Due to COVID-19 and current physical distancing requirements, community input on the West Edwards mobility improvements will be collected through an interactive online virtual public meeting platform, available now at www.eaglecounty.us/WestEdwardsUS6. Focus areas include: Lake Creek Village Drive from Hillcrest Drive to Lake Creek Village Apartments; U.S. Highway 6 from Squaw Creek to Hillcrest Drive; the U.S. Highway 6 and Hillcrest Drive intersection; and U.S. Highway 6 from Fox Hollow to Bramble Bush.
The virtual public meeting will be open through Nov. 18 and includes video presentations on each of the options for the four focus areas, preference surveys, concepts, screening evaluations and comment forms. All information is available in English and Spanish.
Feedback gathered will help refine the concepts and determine the selection of the preferred alternatives for each focus area. Next steps will include moving the Hillcrest Drive intersection improvements forward to final design. Recommendations for the other three focus areas will remain at the concept level design phase until funding is secured for design and construction.
