Clear Creek County issued the following announcement on Nov. 18.
Effective Friday November 20th at 5:00pm, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), is moving Clear Creek County and 14 other counties to the recently revised LEVEL RED – SEVERE RISK on the COVID-19 DIAL.
The dial has also been revised to add a new highest risk level of PURPLE – EXTREME RISK.
“We know this change has a tremendous impact on our community, particularly businesses, especially after making the transition to the Orange-High Risk level last week,” says Dr. Timothy Ryan, County Public Health Director. “COVID-19 case numbers are surging in our county, and hospitalizations and deaths are increasing at alarming rates across the state and the entire country. These steps must be taken to safeguard community health and to help keep us from being moved to the extreme risk level.” Until the change on Friday, Clear Creek County remains in the SAFER AT HOME LEVEL ORANGE – HIGH RISK, and all businesses and other community stakeholders should be preparing for the transition. It remains mandatory for protective face coverings to be worn at all times when in public places.
RESTRICTIONS FOR LEVEL RED INCLUDE:
• Personal gatherings with people outside of your household are prohibited.
• Indoor dining at restaurants is prohibited; use takeout, curbside or delivery options instead.
• Outdoor dining is permitted with those in your household. Any on premises service ends at 8:00pm.
• Gyms/Fitness facilities are limited to 10% capacity, or 10 people indoors per room, or outdoors in groups less than 10. Reservations are required.
• Indoor events are closed.
• Outdoor events are permitted at 25% capacity, not to exceed 75 people. You may only attend with members of your own household and you must maintain at least 6 feet from non-household members at all times.
• Both critical and non-critical retail are limited to 50% capacity and should increase their curbside pick-up and delivery services. Dedicated senior and at-risk hours encouraged. Note that Libraries and Animal Grooming added to the list of Critical Businesses.
• Personal services limited to 25% capacity or 25 maximum, whichever is less.
• Offices limited to 10% capacity. Remote work is strongly encouraged.
Additionally:
• At Ski Resorts, ski lift operations are not impacted; but restaurant/bar/retail restrictions must be followed.
• Life-rite activities that are already scheduled for November 20th through 22nd, such as weddings or memorial services, may proceed as planned. Any future activities must conform to the new requirements.
• People who are at higher risk for getting COVID-19 or experiencing severe illness must follow Stay at Home guidelines.
• Two-week cumulative incidence rate: 482.55 per 100,000 people
• Percent positivity: 8.49%
• Two-week COVID-19 case count of new cases: 47
CDPHE will evaluate Clear Creek County’s COVID-19 metrics the week of December 18th
.If transmission levels continue to escalate, CDPHE may implement additional restrictions sooner. If the trends are reversed, Clear Creek’s level may be changed to lessen restrictions.
