Town of Bennett Introduces Hybrid Court Process

Hybrid

City Of Bennett recently issued the following announcement.

The Town of Bennett recently introduced the option to appear virtually for court hearings.  This allows court proceedings to be more efficient, flexible and accessible to all.

If you would like to plead guilty or no contest without appearing in person because you live more than 50 miles from Bennett or have medical concerns that would make it difficult to attend, please email a copy of your ID, complete contact information and a copy of (or information regarding) your citation to chart@bennett.co.us along with a statement requesting to plead guilty or no contest to your case.

After a statement is emailed, the Court Clerk and Judge will review the request. If approved the Court Clerk will email you the Zoom hearing details.

Those who have a trial scheduled must appear in person, trials cannot be attended virtually.

For those individuals appearing virtually, the same decorum requirements are in place as a physical court appearance.

A full list of requirements and more information about alternative options for arraignment hearings is available here or email Court Clerk, Christina Hart, at chart@bennett.co.us.

Bennett Municipal Court hearings are scheduled on the fourth (4th) Wednesday during the months of January – October; and on the third (3rd) Wednesday during the months of November and December.  All hearings begin at 6:00 p.m.
